Finally a new layout to share

Well I have been trying to get back into the creative swing now for a while... I kept putting the page together and taking it apart... I finally glued averything down... enough madness!!!  Hopefully this unblocks my creative mojo which I thought had abandoned me.

Here is what I finally ended up with, I kind of like it.  I haven't given design tips in a while but I guess that my biggest challenge with this page was in the final assembly process... How to adhere everything to my page.  So here are the assembly dets...

The cardstocks, pattern paper and lace trim went down first with my tape runner.  I wanted lots of texture so I dipped paper strips in Gesso and layered them on the misted pattern paper and it dried solidly attached to the layout... next the wahi tape... I don't think I need to tell you how I set that down... lol.  The pearl strand went next along with the flowers and leaves, I used hot glue for that... Oh the ghost star shapes in the corners were stapled with my mini attacher and the Dazzler birds, glue dots of course.  So there you go... Don't be afraid to use whatever works and makes sense to you.   The altough it did take forever... it did I always find that the biggest challenge once you are happy with the way a layered page like this looks is how to get everything down... no easy task with a truly dimentional layout.  Well first things first, here is what the complete page looks like...

I am submitting this page to a Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge as there 75th challenge is all about Pearls and Flowers (Pearl strand and flower center and well I am sure you can see some flowers on the page :) I love flowers) as well as the ScrapFIT Workout #79 - Tape it up (clear prima washi tape behind the photo and on the photo behind the bird cage).  And last but definatly not least at Show Us Your Stuff - November challenge - Yellow + Washi tape.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my latest project.

Love

Hope everyone is ready for another great week!  I myself couldn't be happier that it is Friday!  I've been helping out in the offices where I work for 2 weeks now and I've managed to pick up one of those nagging headaches... you know the kind that won't let go no matter what you do... but it is Friday and a little rest and relaxation should take care of it!  I've got another layout to share with you all today.  There was a challenge at Flying Unicorn where we had to create a sketch and then come up with a layout from it!  Well I will be the first to admit that my drawing abilities are a little lacking but I had fun doing it anyways so I thought I would share it here...  Please don't laugh... Well you can giggle a bit if you must!

Well you get the idea of what I was going for anyways... Here is what I did.

I have also found some inspiration fro this page around blogland and so I'm submitting this to Cheery Lynn Designs Challenges, they are having a shades of Purple challenge this week!  See the gorgeous doilies behind the photo!  That is theres and it is gorgeous and it cuts like a dream!  I was so impressed with there dies!  Wow!!  I'm also playing along again with DYSU challenge, they are having a use a flower challenge!  Love that!!

Simple moments

I got to play around with some papers on the weekend!  I always love doing that!  And what better time then NSD to play catchout on some layouts.  This page came together with inspiration froam a few different spots.  I used the color combo from one of the challenges at flying unicorn!  Man can they throw a NSD bash!  If you didn't get to play with them this year I'd mark in on your calendar for Next year!  Wow what a great time I had and so much fabulous inspiration.

I'm playing along with ScrapFIT's weekend warm up which was to include some fussy cutting!  My favorite paper for this technique has to be Meg's Garden paper, the flower designs just beg to be cut out. They just add that something special to a page.  Use it Tuesday is having a April Showers Brings May flowers, so of course I have lots of gorgeous blooms on here and last but not least DYSU Challenge Blog is having a circles week!  Well thanks for stopping by!

Together Always

Hey there,

I thought I would play along with My Creative Sketches.  I just love there sketch this month.  I used some of the goodies that I got in the kit of the month club for April at Flying Unicorn.  They have a contest going on for the month of May that will inspire you to break out those flowers.  I personally have a heard time creating a page that does not have at least some flowers.  Here is the sketch I used.

And here is what I came up with...

This is me and my daughter on vacation in Mexico.  I have so many picture from that trip that I really need to get my but in gear and start scrapping them.  so consider this the first.  Hopefully between this Flower Fantasy month at Flying Unicorn and National Scrapbooking Day this weekend I'll be able to start working on these pictures.  I did alot of fussy cutting on this page!  I really like the way this came out.  I'm also playing along at Shopping Our Stash for there Anything Girly.

Last Heartfelt Wednesday!

I'm a little sad posting this last post for Heartfelt Creations project!  I can't believe a year has already gone by, I had so much fun designing for HC but it will be nice to stand by and watch what the other designers do!  They have another amazing design team for this term!  I just love there products so I'll still be playing along with the alumny just without the deadlines.  Well I thought I'd create a layout for my last HC project... Here is what I came up with...

I just love the way the flower cluster came out on this page.  As always please check out what the rest of the designers came up with this week.  I did have a little bit of additional inspitation for this project.  I love playing around with some of the challenge sites in blogger and I found a few that were really interesting to me.  Kraft It Up has a great challenge on right now we had to use Kraft cardstockas the base and we had to add another 3 kraft items to the page as well so I have the border piece, the photo mat and the alpha blocks where printed on kraft.

I also used the sketch over at Bird is the Word... this is fast becoming another favorite site for there incredible inspiration.  The word was... as if you couldn't guess Future, I used the Eleanor Rosevelt quote... "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of there dreams."

Well thanks for stopping by!

There are 5 new PreCut Stamp Sets and one beautiful new exclusive Spellbinders die designed for Heartfelt Creations.

For my project this week I cam up with another simple layout... It seams to be getting easier to come up with masculine pages thanks to these amazing stamps.  Here is what I came up with.

The stamping was colored with distress inks and I love that the stamps come with matching dies so what would normally take a long time to cut out takes only minutes with the dies!  Makes life so much easier.  Don't forget to leave a comment on the Heartfelt Creations blog for your chance to win the entire new collection!  I'm playing along with Shopping our Stash this week... They are challenging us to make a masculine project.

Birthday card (Heartfelt Creations)

Well I was playing around with my stamps and I came up with a few quick and simple card idea's.  I actually did a masculine and feminine card using the same design.  I really like the way these came out!

Here is the his...

And the hers...

I really love how versatile these stamps are!

This week it's Anything Goes at Anything Goes so I'll be submitting my creations there as well as Diva's By Design and Paper Take Weekly.

Well hope everyone has a great week!
